New England Revolution has signed two of its 2013 MLS SuperDraft selections on permanent deals.
Midfielder Donnie Smith and goalkeeper Luis Soffner were both taken in the second round of January's draft and have impressed enough in pre-season training to win pro contracts with the Revs.
"We're pleased to bring Donnie and Luis into the team," Revolution General Manager Michael Burns said.
"Donnie has a unique combination of tremendous speed and wide play on the left side, while Luis was one of college soccer's top goalkeepers the last few seasons. Both players did well during preseason training and we're looking forward to seeing them develop in our system."
22-year old Smith starred for UNC-Charlotte last year whilst 23-year old Soffner was the number one keeper for Indiana Hoosiers as they took out the 2012 NCAA Championship.
