New England Revolution's Joseph tested positive to marijuana

New England Revolution midfielder Shalrie Joseph tested positive to marijuana use hence the reason for his absence from the team for a few weeks.

The 32-year old was sent to drug rehab on April 24 and after returning to the team has admitted to drug use and plans to get himself clean.

"Bottom line is I made a bad decision to smoke marijuana," Joseph said. "I got caught and they sent me to drug rehab treatment.

"I was kind of disappointed, hearing that (he tested positive). I've made a mistake and now I have to move on from it.

"They (the club) just sent me down there," Joseph added. "It was basically a leave of absence. They asked me to go down there, get my mind right and I did. I went down there, spent some time, got my body right and got healthy. Now I'm back, so I'm just enjoying my life again. It's good to be smiling and good to be playing again."
