New England Revolution re-sign Cochrane

The New England Revolution bolstered the club's defensive corps today by signing Re-Entry Process selection Ryan Cochrane to a new contract.

Per MLS and team policies, terms of the deal were not released.

Cochrane, 27, entered Major League Soccer in 2004 and has played his entire seven-year career with the San Jose Earthquakes and Houston Dynamo. Mainly a central defender, he won two MLS Cups with the Dynamo in 2006 and 2007. Overall, he has made 123 career regular-season appearances, scoring four goals and adding four assists. As a central figure in the 2007 Houston defense, Cochrane helped the Dynamo set a then-record for team defense with just 23 goals allowed in the 30-game season.

"We're pleased to have reached an agreement with Ryan," said Revolution Vice President of Player Personnel Michael Burns. "Having Ryan on the roster gives us more options along our backline, and he brings leadership and a championship mentality to our club."
