New England Revolution have opened their preseason preparations with a 2-0 victory over Austin Aztex FC.
New England secured their victory through a Mike Videira opening goal and a forced own goal through a corner from Kenny Mansally.
Importantly for New England several players were missing from the teams first 2009 outing including: Gabriel Badilla (back), midfielders Steve Ralston (quad strain) and Mauricio Castro (groin strain), and forward Taylor Twellman (head/neck).
New England are now on a 12 day training camp in North Carolina before they visit san Jose earthquakes on 21st March for their 2009 MLS season opener.
