MLS club New England Revolution are showing significant interest in Newcastle United's Cheick Tiote.

The Sun reports that the 29-year-old Ivory Coast midfielder could be on his way out at St James' Park with a move to the USA potentially on the cards.

Tiote has made just four starts in the Premier League for the Magpies this season and his time in the north east of England could be coming to a close which has prompted the Revs to plot a January swoop.

The hard-tackling Tiote has been with Newcastle since arriving from Dutch club FC Twente in 2010.
