New England Revolution could make move from Foxborough to Revere

New England Revolution president Brian Bilello suggests the MLS club may well be on the move to the Massachusetts city of Revere.

Revolution owner Robert Kraft has been seeking a shift from Foxborough’s Gillette Stadium for some time now and it is believed that Revere, situated just over 5 miles from downtown Boston, could be the site for a soccer-specific stadium.

“We are in discussions with the City of Revere, which offers the proximity to urban centers and access to transit that we are seeking for a future Revolution stadium, but talks are preliminary at this stage,” read a statement from Bilello to the Boston Globe.

The Revs are keen to get out of Foxborough and there have already been explorations of nearby Somerville but the latest news is that Revere could be the place where the establishment franchise could lay their foundations.
