New England Revolution back with Rochester Rhinos

MLS club New England Revolution have renewed their affiliation with USL PRO side Rochester Rhinos.

MLS club New England Revolution have renewed their affiliation with USL PRO side Rochester Rhinos.

The two clubs entered an agreement ahead of last season and have now confirmed that they will be affiliate partners for the 2014 MLS and USL PRO seasons.

An official statement from the Revs suggests that they will be able to loan four players to the Rhinos throughout the campaign with those to be determined at a later date.

Revs general manager Michael Burns was thrilled that his club could again work closely with the Rhinos after a successful 2013 partnership.

"We believe our partnership with the Rhinos was mutually-beneficial in 2013 and we're looking forward to the continued relationship in 2014," Burns said.

"Having the ability to get players consistent and meaningful playing time is important to their development, and we saw the benefits of it last year with a few of our players when we needed to recall them for first-team games."

Last year, New England finished third in the Eastern Conference and seventh overall in MLS after losing their conference semi-final to eventual champions Sporting Kansas City.

In the USL PRO, the Rochester, New York-based Rhinos finished 11th, missing out on the playoffs by nine points.
