New EnergyAustralia Stadium turf expected this weekend

A-League club Newcastle Jets will oversee the installation of new turf at EnergyAustralia Stadium on the weekend.

The Hunter Valley venue is currently out of action following a motorcross event held there on October 16, forcing Football Federation Australia to postpone tonight's Week 11 clash with North Queensland Fury and almost certainly Sunday's Week 12 fixture with the Melbourne Heart.

But news out of Newcastle is that turf experts from South Australia have been brought in, bringing with them brand new turf which will be installed on Monday.

Officials from MLS club LA Galaxy are currently in Newcastle and the turf problem has not bothered them ahead of the exhibition match between the clubs on November 27.

Galaxy president Tom Payne is believed to be delighted with the stadium and how good it looks after the construction works were completed.
