New contract will come when I ensure survival - West Ham's Allardyce

Sam Allardyce is of the belief that he will be rewarded with a new contract once he ensures West Ham United's Premier League survival.

The East London club sits 12th on the table on 33 points following Saturday's 1-0 win at Stoke City and Allardyce suggests simply keeping clear of the bottom three will land him a new deal at Upton Park.

"Staying in the Premier League is everything about my future," Allardyce told reporters. "That is all I have had to say over the last few weeks.

"It is where I want to be and where I want to apply my skills because I like the euphoria, excitement and pressure that it brings.

"It is the best league in the world and the most entertaining, so plying your trade in it is what you want to do."
