New Cardiff boss Malky Mackay is in no doubt there is a massive ambition at the Welsh club for top flight football in the principality. The Bluebirds have come close in recent years, but were beaten to the tag of being the first Welsh club in the Premier League when their local rivals beat Reading 4-2 in the Championship play-off final at Wembley last month.
"I see a club here with massive ambition," said Mackay.
"I played against Cardiff, coached against Cardiff and managed against Cardiff and I realise the passion and commitment which comes from this part of the world.
"I know the fervent support this club has. I see an infrastructure here which is exciting, a beautiful new stadium and great training facilities. This is a club that wants to go places."
