New boss rallies the Inverness troops

New Inverness boss Terry Butcher wants Inverness to treat very game as a cup final as they bid to avoid relegation from the SPL. "It's about belief and we have to get the players believing in themselves," he said.

"You can't turn the belief on like a tap, you need to build it up with good performances, good training sessions and an understanding of what we want from the players.

"We can start that process on Sunday then build on it with games at home to Kilmarnock and away to Dundee United, and show signs we can beat relegation.

"The attitude of the players towards myself and Maurice, I'm also pleased with. They're very keen to play and desperate to make up for their mistakes earlier in the season, which delights me.

"Winning games helps breed confidence and I have no doubt the players will be definitely up for our game come Sunday.

"Celtic made their cup final the other night, but our cup final and the first of many comes this weekend.

"It'll take one big team effort from everyone at the football club, the fans, the team, the staff.

"But we must also give our fans something to cheer about, because they haven't had anything to shout about in a while and they need a lift too."
