Former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp is of firm belief that Gary Neville would do well should he step into the managerial game now his playing days are over.
Neville called time on his Manchester United career this week after more than 600 matches for the Red Devils and Redknapp, who played for England alongside the defender in the 1990s, believes he would make a good manager.
"Yes, he would make a top manager. He has a lot to offer the game, but maybe he feels he has had his turn. As a player, he has put so much into his career," he told the Daily Mail.
"It hasn't come easily to him, he has had to work incredibly hard to achieve so much."
But Redknapp was unsure whether or not Neville would be all that keen in jumping into what can be an arduous and difficult vocation.
"Will he want the abuse as a manager, the hassle, the impact of dealing with inferior players?" Redknapp asked.
