Everton's current team can become club legends if they beat Chelsea in tonight's Carling Cup semi, says skipper Phil Neville.
He said: "People still talk about the Kendall days and those players still walk around the club as legends. That's what happens at a club like this. If we win a trophy this year, it would be remembered for ever.
"If you don't, there will always be question-marks against you.
"Taking this club to Wembley would be sensational.
"When the season started the question was asked ''Where do Everton want to go?' We've a new training facility, are going ahead with a new ground, the manager has invested heavily, so would we accept finishing seventh or eighth?
"The answer from the players was 'No'. We've gone out and proved we don't want to accept mediocrity any more.
"We are a better team than last year and getting into the latter stages of cup competitions shows we are moving forward. As long as we're doing that, I'll be happy - and so will the manager."
