Gary Neville has been told he must prove he's over his long-term injury problems before a new contract at Manchester United is considered.

Neville made a successful return with the reserve-team last week, but the News of the World says the England fullback must prove his fitness before being offered a new deal.

While out injured, Neville has seen Paul Scholes, Edwin van der Sar and Ryan Giggs all handed new agreements.
