Former Manchester United coach Phil Neville admits they made an attempt for PSG midfielder Blaise Matuidi.
Neville spent last season at United alongside former manager David Moyes.
Matuidi has 32 caps for France and impressed the Moyes' regime at Old Trafford.
Neville said: "We wanted to sign him. We were really interested."
