Everton skipper Phil Neville has revealed how Phil Jagielka needed to recognise the size of the club before he could settle after joining from Sheffield United.

He told evertonfc.com: When you look at that, you make your judgement in terms of consistency and reliability and Jags hasn't let anyone down on either front. I still think there is even more to come from him; he can get quicker, stronger and perhaps he doesn't realise how far he can go.

"It took him a while to find his feet and perhaps he didn't realise how big a club Everton is. Once the penny dropped, he has not looked back and he has become a massive player for us."
