Everton captain Phil Neville admits frustration with their traditional slow season start.
In Neville's first season at Everton, in 2005-6, the Merseyside club lost their first game at Manchester United, won their second game against Bolton - and then crashed to six in a row.
They only scored one goal in those eight games and were bottom. But the Merseyside club went on to draw at Chelsea and win at Birmingham to end the slump, before going on to finish 11th.
Discussing that season, Neville reflected: "I remember saying to Leon Osman after 10 games 'you don't think we'll get relegated do you?' and he said 'don't worry, Everton are traditionally slow starters and our spirit will show through.' And that little comment has stayed with me throughout my Everton career.
"Now our spirit needs to shine through again. He still remembers saying that too. We were flying back from Arsenal and near the bottom and couldn't buy a win, and couldn't see where the next win was coming from."
