Gary Neville is battling for his Manchester United future.

The Sun says the club captain is in the final year of his contract and has not been offered a new deal.

Neville, 33, was out of action for 16 months with injury before the start of this season and has struggled to regain his best form.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson makes no room for sentiment at United if he feels a player's effectiveness for the team is over - just ask Roy Keane.
