Former Everton star Phil Neville has stated that a match against Manchester United means as much as the Merseyside derby for the Toffees' faithful.

Clashes against United are always a big occasion for Everton and now former player Neville has revealed that the fans regard encounters against the Red Devils at the same level of importance as the Merseyside derby.

Neville told the Manchester Evening News: "These games never disappoint. I've always thought that, both when I was a United player playing at Goodison, or an Everton player playing against Man United.

"This is the game Everton probably love just as much as the derby, because United are coming to town. It's a tight pitch and the atmosphere will be electric so it's going to be really exciting."
