Everton skipper Phil Neville was happy seeing more kids get their chance in victory at Wolves.
David Moyes handed a full Premier League debut to striker Magaye Gueye and also blooded Adam Forshaw as a substitute.
Neville said: "The injury situation is unfortunate. They are all long term injuries. You think maybe we'll have a couple back but you just can't see it.
"The injury situation is bad but it's giving chances to the likes of Gueye and Forshaw and this club is renowned for producing homegrown players.
"We have a manager who is not scared to put them in. Over the next six games, why not give some of these youngsters a chance.
"I think the way football is going, it is the way forward."
