Neville in the dark over continuing Man Utd coaching role

Phil Neville is still waiting to hear whether he has a future at Manchester United under new boss Louis van Gaal. Van Gaal, appointed earlier this week, has already installed Ryan Giggs as his assistant boss and two other coaches in goalkeeping specialist Frans Hoek and opposition scout Marcel Bout will arrive with him.

Neville told Sky Sports News: "I hope so. It is business as usual as far as I am concerned.

"I was first-team coach last year. I am not sure what my role will be next year but over the next couple of weeks I will find out about my role and hopefully I will be involved at Man Utd."

Neville is yet to speak to Van Gaal, who will not officially take charge until after his duties as Holland manager end after this summer's World Cup.

Asked if Van Gaal had contacted him, Neville said: "No. There are obviously processes in place and he will have his structures and team, and you just hope you are a part of that.

"He is obviously a busy man with Holland at the World Cup. It is good to get the new manager announced and the club can start looking forward again and looking to improve on last season."
