Manchester United captain Gary Neville admits dressing room morale was lifted prior to their win at Manchester City after Wayne Rooney declared himself available.
Rooney's recovery from an ankle problem is key to the United title cause, according to Neville.
He said: "We were certainly happy to see Wayne play in the derby because we are always going to miss him when he is injured. He is unique and has proved difficult to replace because the penetration, strength and aggression he provides is different to what other players offer.
"Against City he played 65 minutes of a tough game in very warm conditions, which was a big ask for him because he hadn't trained properly for two weeks due to the ankle injury. It's great to have him back and we hope he can stay fit and have a big impact for us."
