Former Manchester United defender Phil Neville believes manager Jose Mourinho has the climb back on track.

Despite a stunning start to this campaign, they've struggled to keep up with neighbours Manchester City and find themselves 11 points behind their fierce rivals at the summit of the Premier League.

Asked whether he thought Mourinho was the man to take United back to their glory days, Neville told Sky Sports: “Yes, I 100 per cent think he is.

“I thought he had a fantastic season last year. I think United have improved this year.

“It's going to be very difficult for them to win the league but you look at the Champions League draw.

“He's the type of manager that will bring success. His track record, his history, he's almost guaranteed that so I think he's the right man."
