Ryan Nelsen hopes Blackburn Rovers can keep hold of Phil Jones.
The defender has been linked with Chelsea and Tottenham.
"Of course you want to keep Phil because he's a young English player that is playing week in week out in the Premier League, so he's going to get a lot of interest," Nelsen told the Lancashire Telegraph.
"But I think Phil has still got a long way to go. He's still only 18. He's a very good player but less than two years ago they were talking about Tottenham potentially wanting to sell Gareth Bale.
"Football is a very fickle world that can change quickly. Phil is only 18 so let him enjoy his football without worrying about things like that."
