Lucas Neill made his first appearance in Everton colours last night. The Australian international, who signed with the Toffees last week, entered the pitch in the 62nd minute of the Carling Cup clash with Hull City which Everton won 4-0.

The former Blackburn Rovers and West Ham skipper came on for Leighton Baines and helped Everton keep out the home side as the Tigers battled desperately to get back in the contest.

Neill's Socceroos teammate Tim Cahill was not used with David Moyes preferring to rest him for Saturday's trip to Portsmouth.
