Everton signing Lucas Neill has hailed the leadership qualites of fellow Aussie Blue Tim Cahill. "It's his timing and the impression he has on games," Neill tell the Liverpool Daily Post. "Timmy can score the winner to get us back into a game or at a time when you don't think there's a goal coming.
"For club and country he's been amazing. Nobody sees all the work he puts in behind the scenes. He's a fantastic professional and deserves all the plaudits he gets.
"I'd like to think I could help with leadership, whether that be through actions or mannerisms and words. I will be one of the guys helping out here.
"Some like to cuddle, others like a kick up bum. Tim is one of those leaders now, through actions and his desire to win. That can be important."
The former West Ham United captain added: "It's an added bonus for me having Timmy here, a really close family friend, one of my closest in football and life.
"If there's anything here I don't know then he'll tell me straight away. But I've had no problems so far - it's a real family club and that was the good feeling I had about coming here."
