Jesus Navas admits Manchester City must silence Lionel Messi if they're to beat Champions League opponents Barcelona.

Navas has only been on the winning side three times in 23 meetings between his former club Sevilla and the Catalan giants.

"He is very difficult to stop, to be honest with you.

"You have to put pressure on him, make sure you are close to him when he gets the ball and not let him create space. He is one of the best players in football history, it is very difficult to stop him.

"Cristiano Ronaldo is big and strong, but Messi's technique is pure class."
