National Youth League wrap - Round 6

National Youth League Round 6 bought about some interesting results and also produced a runaway leader at the top of the table. Saturday's match between Adelaide United and the Melbourne Victory ended with the Reds winning at home 3-1 thanks to a Francesco Monterosso double, continuing the Victory's poor start to the season. The win sees Adelaide remain in second position whilst Melbourne sits second bottom with just one win from six matches. Sydney FC confirmed themselves as the measuring stick of the competition with a 2-1 win over the Central Coast Mariners. Goals from Brendan Gan and Kerim Bulut were enough to ensure a perfect start to the season for the Sky Blues with five wins from five matches and a four point gap to the rest of the field. Whilst the Perth Glory had the bye, Queensland accounted for Newcastle 3-0 to move into third position on the table.
