National Youth League Round 7 results

There were only two games played in the NYL on the weekend. Chris Grossman led the Queensland Roar to a 3-1 win over the Melbourne Victory.

The striker scored twice in the second half to help his side to second spot on the table and continue the Victory's poor early season form.

Josh McVey equalised for the Roar after Dimitri Hatzimouratis opened in the 11th minute.

The Roar now boasts two of the top three scorers in the league with Grossman now joint-leader on five and McVey just behind on four.

In the other match, Perth Glory extended the gap between the top four and bottom three with a 2-1 win over the Newcastle Jets.

The Glory now sits fourth on ten points whilst the Jets are one place behind them but six points in arrears.

Adelaide United visits the Central Coast Mariners this Saturday in an A-League curtain raiser.
