National Youth League Round 10

Round 10 of the National Youth League was completed on the weekend with Sydney FC again the dominant force. The Sky Blues won their eighth match on the trot when they accounted for Queensland Roar 3-0 at the Sydney Football Stadium on Friday night.

Goals to Adam Biddle, Sean Rooney and Kerim Bulut handed the home team the victory and maintained their seven point lead on top of the ladder as Rooney kept his spot in second place on the goal scorers table with 7.

Central Coast Mariners managed a 2-1 victory over the Perth Glory in Perth for just their second win of the season.

The Glory's Reece Vittiglia put the home team in front before substitute Darko Vidovic equalised and Scott Wright put the Mariners ahead just four minutes from time.

Perth stay in fourth position on the table as the Mariners put a game between them and bottom-placed Melbourne Victory who had the bye.

Adelaide United kept in touch with Sydney FC by defeating Newcastle Jets away.

The 3-0 scoreline summed up the Reds performance with goals to Matthew Mullen, Francesco Monterosso and Shane Tobias.

Monterosso kept his good run of form going by scoring his sixth goal of the season.

The Reds kept second spot as Newcastle remains in fifth.
