Nathan Broadhead delighted with new Everton deal

Nathan Broadhead has penned a new deal with Everton to 2020.

Bangor-born Broadhead, 19, joined the Blues' Academy nine years ago and has progressed through the ranks, enjoying an outstanding campaign for the Under-18s in 2015/16 by being named Player of the Season, finishing top goalscorer, and helping fire the young Blues to the Dallas Cup.

After penning his new deal, he told evertonfc.com: “I'm very pleased. I've been an Evertonian all of my life and it feels like the perfect place to be for me. I'm just glad it's all done and I'm looking forward to next season now.

“At the beginning of this season, I wasn't really getting into to the [Under-23s] team but I worked hard in the gym to build myself up and tried to impress the staff on the training pitch.

“I managed to get into the team more towards the end of the season and to help the team win the Premier League 2 title was something I will never forget. To lift the trophy at Goodison in front of so many fans was an unbelievable feeling.

“Playing with the Under-23s has been brilliant. It's a great group of lads and [coach] David Unsworth and [assistant] John Ebbrell have helped me a lot. They've worked with me on my defensive responsibilities and work off the ball - I feel like I've gained a lot from working with them.

“Next season I want to cement my place in that team, hopefully get more game time and more goals and assists."
