Nathan Ake is confident of impressing Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho this season.

The Dutch midfielder made his first team debut last term, but has dropped back to the U21s since Mourinho's arrival.

"That's okay, since I am still young," he said.

"I must assert myself, though. It really is a fresh start."

Ake has so far refused to go out on-loan, explaining: "Staying will increase the chances of a place in the senior squad for me."
