Nate Jaqua feeling settled at Seattle Sounders

Seattle Sounders FC strike force of Nate Jaqua and Freddy Montero have already combined for 12 goals in their preseason games, including two each against USL Vancouver Whitecaps this weekend, in their first full game at new home Quest Field. After the preseason friendly, Jaqua reflected: "I still think (our cooperation) can get better.

"There were some times when we were both doing different stuff, but every time we play together it's getting better. But if we score four goals, that's all you can really ask."

With the team playing it's first game on the Quest Field pitch which is composed of fieldturf the teams coach Sigi Schmid was happy with the surface. "The surface played really well. It's for sure the best turf surface in the league," Schmid said. "The surfaces in Toronto or Giants Stadium aren't even close to comparable. This place is as close to grass as you can (get)."

With Seattle proving prolific in front of goal Jaqua believes this is just the beginning.

"It's still early, but (Sigi Schmid - Head Coach) definitely is trying to get that group of guys a bit more comfortable," Jaqua said, while adding that players can still move themselves up or down with their performance.

Seattle Sounders FC open the MLS 2009 season against New York Red Bull, March 19th at Quest Field.
