Samir Nasri is delighted with the way he has kicked off his Arsenal career.
"I am very happy. I have been able to regain my place in the national side, there is a good atmosphere at the club, and we have a very young squad that shares my excitement," the former Marseille star told the Daily Express.
"I do not feel that I am in a foreign country - with all the French speakers around I am not in an unknown territory. I have settled in very well."
Nasri has been likened to Robert Pires due to his style of play and he hopes to make the same sort of impact at Arsenal as his compatriot.
However, Nasri has played down the comparisons, saying: "I have heard that I have been cast as the successor to Pires but that is difficult to bear as he did some magnificent things with Arsenal.
"The comparison is flattering. But I need to adapt to the style of play and to acclimatise over here.
"I would love to have the same sort of career he had for the club."
