Nasri hurts hamstring in major blow to Arsenal

Arsenal's 2-1 win over League OneHuddersfield Town in the fourth round of the FA Cup has come at a cost.

In-form attacker Samir Nasri picked up a hamstring strain when he chased down a long ball from goalkeeper Manuel Almunia and had to be replaced by Tomas Rosicky just after the half-hour mark.

The injury is likely to keep him out of action for around three weeks meaning he is a big chance of missing the first knockout stage of the Champions League against Barcelona on February 16 and manager Arsene Wenger admitted he took a risk by playing Nasri.

"Nasri looks to have a serious hamstring injury. Usually it is three weeks," he said.

"We have to see if it is a grade 1, it will be two weeks, so we will see.

"I have now regrets because the plan was to play Rosicky, but he was still too weak because he was sick, so I took the gamble on Nasri.

"It backfired, but he could have come on and that happened as well.

"It is very difficult to predict. We are at the stage of the season where we play so many games that to lose bodies is very difficult for us.

"But Samir is a big blow."
