Samir Nasri is ready to battle for his place in Manchester City's midfield.

Nasri faces competition from new teammates Fernandinho and Jesus Navas in City's engineroom.

"Of course, I am ready to face this challenge," said Nasri. "Competition will make us better. When one player arrives, he has ambition and you live for this kind of competition. If I was not ready to compete, I will be playing football in my neighborhood with my friends."
