Napoli striker Fabio Quagliarella says he struck the winner for Italy in last night's 3-2 win over Cyprus.
"From the pitch it looked as if the ball had already gone in, but on the replays it's a little less clear," confessed the striker after Fiorentina's Alberto Gilardino got the final touch.
"I played on the right, on the left and when [Antonio] Di Natale came on I was behind Gilardino to make the most of that space.
"Gilardino protects the ball very well, so it becomes easier for me to make the most of my characteristics, coming from behind into that space and shooting.
"I can also try to give my best on the wing and want to keep hold of my place in the squad. We did a lot better in the second half. Cyprus are a very tough side and let's not forget how much trouble they caused us in the opening game.
"It's never easy to fight back from 2-0 down, but this proves the team has what it takes."
