Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik admits the early weeks of his new career in Naples couldn't have gone better.

"I'm mad about Napoli," he told Il Corriere dello Sport after scoring in Napoli's victory over Sampdoria. "The goal was a dream. I shouted like a mad man and ran around the curva showing my shirt, it just didn't seem real.

"It was a really good goal and I prefer it to the best goal I scored with Brescia which was a thirty yarder against Albinoleffe as this time there were more than 50,000 fans watching.

"The goal was for the fans, my family and my fiancee. I wanted to score so badly because I had just missed a sitter from a Gianluca Grava cross."
