Aleksandar Mitrovic has turned down the reported advances of Napoli in order to stay with Newcastle United.

The Serbian striker has been heavily linked with the Italian club in recent times but insists he is intent on remaining at St James' Park and returning the club to the Premier League after suffering relegation last season.

"It's always nice when big clubs are interested in you but I'm at Newcastle and I want to come back to the Premier League," he said of the rumours.

"We're playing well and I'm just focusing on Newcastle – I want to score goals for them."

Mitrovic, 22, has scored three leaguegoals for the Championship-topping Magpies this season plus a recent brace in the EFL Cup.
