Napoli striker Manolo Gabbiadini has apologised for his red card in victory over Crotone.
Gabbiadini lashed out after a foul from the Pitagorici defender Gian Marco Ferrari, but subsequently apologised in an interview with Il Mattino.
“I was afraid he [Ferrari] could have hurt me with that tackle.
"I'm sorry, I lost my head," he said.
Gabbiadini has protested that that his actions were an instinctive gesture to fear rather than anger and that he had no real intention to hurt the opponent
