Napoli are aiming to trump Roma for Bayern Munich striker Luca Toni.

Toni spent the second-half of last season on-loan at Roma, but is now unsure about returning to the capital.

"I am here until June 30, after that date we will see," said the 2006 World Cup winner.

"I still have a year on my Bayern contract. At this moment I know nothing about my future, but right now I need to unwind a little and enjoy a few days on vacation."

Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis confessed: "I really like Toni and Napoli could cuddle him like a mother, giving him a new lease of life."
