Napoli have denied critical comments of Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo attributed to Gonzalo Higuain.

Higuain, formerly of Real, was quoted by Don Balon slamming Ronaldo.

"He has a huge ego. If you do not tell him he's the best, you are not his friend. Cristiano feels the best, but he is over-rated. I shared a dressing room with (Lionel) Messi, one and the other have nothing to do with each other," Higuain is alleged to have said.

But Napoli released a statement yesterday: "About these statements attributed to Gonzalo Higuain in Don Balon magazine, Napoli and the Azzurri striker, categorically deny giving an interview to the publication . Thus, sentences attributed to Higuain should be considered as false and baseless."
