Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis has big concerns of his exciting squad breaking up this summer. Mediaset says De Laurentiis discussed the sale of Ezequiel Lavezzi with Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti on Monday.
And he has now fielded an approach from Manchester City for star striker Edinson Cavani.
The Uruguay international is contracted to Napoli until 2016, but his €2.5 million salary would be more than doubled if he chose to join City this summer.
De Laurentiis has little wriggle room in negotiations over a contract upgrade, particularly if Napoli fail to clinch Champions League qualification.
Along with City, PSG have also been in contact in the last month for Cavani and De Laurentiis knows he faces a massive battle to keep hold of his talisman.
