Napoli president stands by buyout clause for Napoli striker Cavani

Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis stands by the €63 million buyout clause in Edinson Cavani's contract.

Real Madrid and Manchester City are chasing the Uruguay international.

"I have set the bar high in his contract, primarily because of the desire to keep him in Azzurro," said De Laurentiis.

"But it is clear that if a 25-year-old attacker is wanted by one of the most important clubs in the world then it is understandable that he could be attracted.

"Cavani knows that he is loved and highly respected in Naples, living in our city is an act of faith and conscience.

"Then if there is a crazy €70m offer then we'll listen to it, but, let us be clear, the last word will go to the player."
