Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis publicly thanked coach Walter Mazzarri after clinching Champions League qualification last night.
The 1-1 draw with Inter Milan was enough to guarantee Napoli a top four finish.
De Laurentiis stayed extremely calm and separate from the celebrations, allowing the players to enjoy their moment and visibly not shaking hands or hugging the Coach before taking the microphone.
"I want to thank Mazzarri and his collaborators for taking us to this point," were his first words that echoed around the stadium.
"I then thank you, the fans, who have stood by us during the worst moments of Napoli's lifetime.
"The way you followed and supported this team does Naples proud and is the greatest element we have.
"I promise to help change the unjust law that is preventing many of you from travelling to away games. You will be able to follow Napoli whenever and wherever they will play."
