Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis is ready to organise a 50th birthday celebration for Diego Maradona.
The Argentine legend would like 'to embrace the city and its people again' on October 30 in what promises to be an incredible occasion.
Maradona has entrusted his old team-mate Salvatore Bagni to guarantee that the game goes ahead between Napoli's two historic Scudetto winning sides from 1987 and 1990.
Bagni reportedly held talks with De Laurentiis yesterday and the outlook appears to be positive.
"I have read that he would like to be here on October 30," De Laurentiis said. "We are ready to welcome him with open arms whenever he wants.
"I would like to establish a relationship of respect and association with him. And if something were to emerge that could involve us both, then I would be willing to discuss it."
