Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis has hailed the form Dries Mertens this season.
Indeed, ADL insists he'd take the Belgian over Gonzalo Higuain, now of Juventus, if given the straight choice.
"Mertens, because he can cover multiple roles, and can even play centre forward.
"Then it depends if one makes it on purely statistics. If you only talk about the number of goals, then maybe you can choose Higuain, but in terms of quality, even to assist and not for 'self-centeredness', one like Mertens is a golden boy."
