Napoli have made contact with Manchester United fullback Matteo Darmian.
Azzurri sports chief Cristiano Giuntoli is planning for a busy winter market and has a new fullback signing high on the agenda.
Sky Italia says an enquiry has been made after Darmian, who can leave United in January.
Napoli are keen to do business, but the biggest obstacle is the player's bumper wages, which they cannot match.
Darmian is in his third season with United and on a contract to 2020.
