Napoli sports chief Riccardo Bigon has tabled a new loan proposal to Liverpool for Pepe Reina.
Liverpool would prefer an outright sale, but the Azzurri cannot afford to meet their asking price.
Instead, says Il Mattino, Bigon has made an offer to take Reina on loan for a second season, covering €2.5 million of his salary. Last term, Napoli covered €2 million of Reina's wages.
Should a deal be struck, Napoli will seek to offload one of their two reserve keepers, Mariano Andujar or Rafael.
