Argentina coach Diego Maradona is keen to see Italy qualify for the World Cup round of 16. The Azzurri now need to beat Slovakia on Thursday to give themselves a chance of making the Second Round.
"If Italy weren't to go through it would be a scandal for them," Maradona said. "But I am sure that the most important teams will go forward, even if I am amazed at France's situation.
"Anyway, I don't forget that in 1982, Italy qualified from the group stages with three draws and then won the World Cup."
